Are you an administrator or student in charge of decorating your school’s display case? This can be a much more stressful responsibility than anyone ever imagined. Most display cabinets are in the main hallway or main building of your school, and are noticed by everyone. Your school’s display case doesn’t have to just be for the sports teams and their honors and trophies. You can represent all different clubs and students by being unique and changing things up every month.
Your first thing should be to decorate the inside of your display case with colors and things that represent your school and your school’s spirit. You can do this by adding fabric, poster board or wallpaper on the inside of the window in your school colors. Antique photographs of your school or things like miniature versions of your school’s mascot can be unique and fun items you can also add. {Use flag cases to hold your school’s flag or a round frame that you can use for photographs that you can continuously change out. Be creative and you will find your choices are endless.}
Change your display window monthly and respresent different clubs and groups in your school. Be sure that your display case honors all clubs and pupils aside from the championship football team. Is there a recent school play being put on by the drama class? Display photographs of the cast in roles. Represent the vibe of the musical or play with items and script pages. Are art students making unique and unusual artwork for classes? This is a fantastic place to display artwork of all different types.
Although sports and arts are great for your display window, you still have other options. Be creative and display superb work in education or pay tribute to those who volunteer for a meaningful cause. Show your school cares by using your display cabinet as a platform for wonderful community organizations and charities. You can get pupils educated about and interested in helping others that are less fortunate. Honor any club who is winning awards no matter what kind of work or field it is in.
Of course you still want to show your pride for the school’s sports groups. Don’t forget programs that go unnoticed like swimming or tennis. Your school’s athletics are well rounded; be sure you acknowledge them all in the display case. Go back in time and look for antique photographs and trophies from times past. You can present how the past and present work together in sports inside your display case. Use pictures, trophies, and medals from all places to express that you don’t always have to come in first place to be a winner.
